At 12 feet, a 120" screen provides the THX-recommended 36° viewing angle.
For a dim room, a standard white screen works well.
THX recommends a 36° viewing angle for immersive cinematic viewing. SMPTE recommends a minimum of 30° for a good cinema experience.
At 12 feet, you'll notice 4K detail on screens larger than about 100". Closer viewing and larger screens benefit more from 4K resolution.
